Welcome to the Summer 2012 YA Scavenger Hunt! This tri-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way for readers to get exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors… and a chance to win some awesome prizes! In this hunt, you not only have access to exclusive content from each author, you also get clues at each stop for the scavenger hunt. Add up the clues, and you can enter for our prize–one lucky winner will receive one signed book from each author on the hunt in my team! But play fast: This contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online for 72 hours!
Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are TWO contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or both! I am a part of the BLUE TEAM–but there is also a red team for a chance to win a whole different set of signed books!

If you’d like to find out more about the hunt, including links to all the participating authors and a full list of prizes up for grabs, go to the YA Scavenger Hunt homepage.

SCAVENGER HUNT POST
Today, I am pleased to be hosting Tara Hudson on my website for the YA Scavenger Hunt!
Tara and I have something in common: We were both Pre-Med in college, and we both came to our senses in our sophomore year. However, while she actually got excellent grades and could have become a terrific doctor but chose writing and law instead, I got terrible grades and switched to Visual Arts and film. I have no regrets; I just couldn’t face another 8 years of study following college. But here, I’ll let Tara introduce herself:
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Tara Hudson graduated with a degree in law, mostly because she believed all the horror stories about English majors and their careers in the food-service industry. Luckily, she soon remembered how much she loved telling ghost stories, particularly to her girlfriends who liked visiting abandoned cemeteries as much as she did. Tara currently lives in Oklahoma with her husband, son, and a menagerie of ill-behaved pets.
Would you like to know more? Check out Tara’s website and read about her latest book here!
EXCLUSIVE CONTENT
New Orleans
Saint Louis
Number One Cemetery
A night there can change a life . . . or a death.

Increasingly worried that dark spirits will carry out their threats and hurt the people she cares for most, Amelia is ready to try anything to protect them. And for his own very different reasons, Joshua has come to this cemetery at midnight to join her in a powerful ritual. Both know that once Amelia steps inside the Voodoo circle and the beautiful girl from the Conjure Café begins the ceremony, everything will change.

Tara Hudson’s enthralling sequel to Hereafter escalates the danger and excitement, bringing a new dimension to her already mesmerizing story of a haunted love.

ETA 8/5/12: The YA Scavenger Hunt is over, and the exclusive content from Arise is now gone. I hope you had a chance to read Chapter 5! If not, the books is available now in stores. :)

CONTINUE THE HUNT
To continue in the hunt, you need to check out the next author!
Don’t forget to enter the contest for a chance to win a ton of signed books by me, E.C. Myers, and more! Add up all the favorite numbers of the authors on the blue team and you’ll have all the secret code to enter for the grand prize.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed meeting Tara Hudson and reading the bonus material from her book Arise. Keep an eye out in the rest of the hunt, and you’ll find an exclusive deleted scene from my book Fair Coin

I realize I probably should have hosted another giveaway here, but I’m in the middle of proofing QUANTUM COIN this week and I didn’t want everyone to have to jump through a bunch more hoops here for the chance of winning a book.

However, I would love it if visitors took a moment to Like the Facebook page for FAIR COIN/QUANTUM COIN, follow me on Twitter, or visit the Tumblr page and make a wish. These are also the best ways to find out about upcoming giveaways, and there are some coming soon for chances to get an advance copy of QUANTUM COIN!
